Im an undergrad Materials Engineer working on an asphalt recycling project.

Anyone who is interested in asphalt recycling is invited to visit our forum:

We have three goals of the project:

To optimize a current process with minor changes.

To redesign a current process with major changes.

To develop a new process.

If you are interested in asphalt recycling we would like to hear from you.

I got a "Formu does not exist" error - please check your link, etc.

Are you aware of what California DOT did recently on Interstate 80?

You might find this article interesting:

The article says the contract called for milling out 4" of existing asphalt then replacing it with dense graded asphalt concrete, and capping that with 3 more inches of dense graded. They then changed the original plan and substituted recycled material in that same 4" section using a cold in place recycling process (using 2.5% foamed asphalt, 1.5% cement as a binder, and with no additional fines).
