Hello,
I have a quiestion related to the stress categories and limits in the nozzle after linearization in ANSYS.
IMHO, the assesment to be done is that the PL is minor than SPL and PL+Pb+Q minor than SPS near to the junction.
And far away from the junction Pmminor than S considering the Nozzle Wall.

The question is, is this correct or there is any other check that must be performed.

In other hand, is there any article defining "near" or "far" from strcutural discontinuity?

Regards,

Please see table 5.6 for some examples of stress classification. A distinction of what is "near" or "far" can be made based on the limits of reinforcement (para. 4.5).

There are a number of additional checks that you need to consider (buckling, local failure, etc...).

Have you taken any training courses related to performing an FEA analysis per ASME VIII-2?

It's not nearly as simple as that. There are many more requirements.

Do you understand the concept of Protecting against a variety of failure modes that each have there own respective design margins?
