Ref. ASME VIII Div 2

Table 4.16.7, calculation of integral flange Ip value .......

in 2007 ed equation KCD to get the flange moment of inertia has

2007 Ed. ...... 0.105(DDG/CC)

2011a Ed. ..... 1.05(DDG/CC)

It makes a significant difference to results.

Is this a correction in the latest code or another typo ??

Please look at the following:
ASME PTB-3-2010 SECTION VIII - DIVISION 2 EXAMPLE PROBLEM MANUAL PART 4

4.16.1 Example Problem E4.16.1 Integral Type ... 4-199

C2it - can you narrow down the Edition/Addenda where the calculation changed (obviously somewhere between 2007 and 2011)? If you can do that, I will check to see if the change was intentional or not.

2010 Edition... 0.105(DDG/CC)

The change was on the 2011a Addenda. There was no mention in the Summary of
Changes about this revision.

I checked out both Editions and I see exactly what you mean. It is my opinion that you have found an error (likely an editorial goof - you';; notice that the formatting between 2010 and 2011 are slightly different...).

Please submit an inquiry as per "Submittal of Technical Inquiries to The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Committee - Mandatory" Section In Division 2. Send it via e-mail, as detailed in Article 6. Whether or not it is acknowledged as an error (errata), please let me know the "tracking number" or "BC item" that you are issued for this, as I will monitor it as it winds its way through the system.
