ASME U stamp Job or T Stamp Job

Dear All:

I have a very special products, a gasoline Tank for the automobile, the detail data:
B. Design Pressure 2,160 kPa (313 psig)
C. Design Temperature 65 C (150° F)
D. Minimum Design Metal -29 C (-20° F) Temperature
E. Service Fluid Propane or LPG
F. Specific Gravity 0.5 @ 24 C (75°F)
G. Corrosion Allowance 0.0 mm
H. Materials per ASME U.P.V. Code, Section II, Division 1,
2007 Edition
Tank Envelope: 305 X 393 X 900 Conformable Tank (Typical)
A. Height: 305 mm (12 in)
B. Width: 393 mm (15.5 in)
C. Length: 900 mm (35.4 in)
D. Type of Head: Multi-piece welded conformable head using
2:1 ellipsoidal profile or one-piece formed head using 2:1
ellipsoidal profile. One-pieced head is shown in drawing.
Now We want apply for the ASME Authorized, but we do not know, which Certificate is suitable for this products, U Stamp or T stamp, If some one knows, If some one knows, please help us to make clear.

I believe Section XII is to be reserved for hauling cargo.

DOT is currently working to publish a rulemaking that will formally adopt Section XII and the NBIC into the federal regulations. See link below:

Currently, ASME Code Stamped vessels (tanks) in transport service are stamped as Section VIII (U-stamped) vessels. Once Section XII is adopted, by the DOT (including the Jurisdictions) new vessels will bear a “T” Stamp, and repairs or alterations must be performed by a holder of a “TR” Certificate of Authorization.

All of this is still pending.
