ASME section 1 requirements for seamless pipe manufacturer

Hello guys

A customer wants to visit and check our seamless pipe manufacturing facility as per ASME section 1. According to my knowledge ASME section is the code for construction of boiler and I think it is not applicable to seamless pipe manufacturers, being a manufacturer we only manufacture seamless pipes as per ASME section 2 part A. kindly tell me, what are the requirements of ASME section 1 for pipe manufacturers?

Section I does not get into the procurement aspect of things aside from specifying the permitted material specs/grades.

As far as visiting the facility, this is increasingly common as the result of falsified documentation and sub-par manufacturing practices which have led to a plethora of recent failures, particularly from Chinese-manufactured materials. The client wants to make sure that he's getting what he paid for.

Also, some clients have QA procedures that won't permit purchasing from a supplier that's not on an approved bidders list. Depending on the nature of the product, this may include an audit of the supplier.
