Hello All,

PQR Base Metal - SB-705, Alloy 625 (T.S. = 120 Ksi). Weld Consumable - ERNiCrMo-19 (Tig). PQR Testing requirements (Tensile, Bend & Hardenss)
Actual job requirement Base Metal - SB-575 (UNS N10276).

Question
Can I make a WPS with ERNiCrMo-4 consumable, which has a tensile strength of 100 Ksi which matches with the actual job requirement base metal (i.e 100 ksi), even though the PQR was qualified with a higher strength consumable?

Regards,
Himanshu Naik

Yes as long as there is no change in F-No of the weld filler metal.
