Hello all,

I would like to ask couple of questions to clarify some doubts.

Is it allowed to hard stamp required marking directly on boilers shell? Is there any minimum thickness of shell specified? Will the allowance for 4mm character size still apply?

Acc. to HG-530:

required marking shall be stamped with letters at least 5/16 in. (8 mm) high [except as permitted in (d)]
and in some conspicuous place on the boiler proper or on a nameplate at least 3/64 in. (1.2 mm) thick permanently fastened to the boiler proper.

In my opinion it is allowed because shell is part of boiler proper but there is no minimum thickness specified. Additionally im not sure if 4mm chcaracter size allowance will still apply because this allowence is only when there is unsiffiecient place for nameplate with 8 mm character size.

I would be very grateful for your opinions.

Thank you

ŁB
