Hello everyone and thanks for your help,

I'd like to know if, regarding to the material ASME SA387 Gr.9, that is not available anymore in ASME II part.D, there is an equal in EN.13445-3 Ed.2021 that we can use as a material for plates. Or, in case, if there would be another material that we can use instead of this as a plate or a welded pipe (we looked to the SA 691 9CR but the problem is the same).

Our client has commissioned a heat exchanger made all in Chromium - Molybdenium Gr.9, other materials are not accepted; it's pretty clear from old thread that SA387 Gr.91 has different properties. We have found on ASME VIII Div.1 UG.15 that we can calculate the product specification using a similar material, like the tubes material (ASME SA 213-T9) referring the calculation to ASME VIII Div.1 UG-23, but in the other hand we don't understand how this product might be made, looking at the fact that this product plates are not available on ASME II Part.D.

I've already read some thread regarding to this topic:

thread794-236597

thread330-216187

thread292-424403

If someone would have any idea about it and how we can go through this situation it would be extremely helpful, thanks a lot.
