I have purchased some big stainless steel reducers designed according to ASME B16.9.

In order to qualify the desing, I have asked to the manufacturer the proof testing, but I got a certificate relevant to a carbon steel reducer.

So my question is: can a proof test certificate relevant to a carbon steel fitting be used to qualify a stainless steel fitting?
What is the correct interpretation of Para 9.3.4 about steel grade?

Thank you in advance to everybody.

You mean paragraph 9.4.3.

Interesting question. I would tend to think it's fine, but I can imagine some situations where it might not be. Maybe you should request an interpretation from ASME.

Thank you for your reply, I confirm that the correct paragraph is 9.4.3.

I have already asked and interpretation to ASME, and they reply to me that they will take care of the question during next commitee meeting (next month).

Once I will have the reply, I will post it.
