Helow there

Does any one have idea that ASME B 73.1 end suction pumps with self priming option?

Please let me know

Regards
Niss

Nissmurano,
No, self priming is not covered by ANSI B73.1 or similar standard.
Eventhougt Flowserve and Goulds has ANSI self priming pump, that has similar features, and interchageable parts with true ANSI B73.1, there are not a full compliance ANSI B73.1

The problem is mainly, the suction or the discharge nozzle that because of casing desing can not meet dimmensional requirements for ANSI B73.1.

But why do you looking for true ANSI self priming pump?

I hope this helps.

No where does Goulds say the 3796 is B73.1 compliant. It's part of their ANSI family, but it's not fully compliant. It's fairly obvious that the suction location does not comply with ANSI B73.1.
The CV3196 is also not B73.1 compliant, and they most definitely do not claim it to be so.

bimr,

It is a marketing issue. They call ANSI family a kind of pumps that have in mind ANSI B73.1 to goal for desing, but not necessary are fully compliant.

True ANSI B73.1 is model 3196, that is fully compliant.

Self priming model is intend of ANSI B73.1, it will be fully compliant with suction nozzle dimensional location exception.

I hope this helps.
