Good day fellows Eng-Tips,
Here i want to ask one question to anyone that expertise on rubber material.
So i have data of NBR Rubber as following:
Tensile Strength at break : 1450 psi
Ultimate Elongation : 250%
Duro Hardness : 70

From data above may i calculate tensile modulus of rubber at 100% elongation ? if can, what equation i have to use ? or is the tensile modulus value is may achieved by only through a tension test ?

Due i need information of tensile modulus but the data we have only provides tensile strength at break, ultimate elongation and duro hardness.

Before thanks in advance guys, really need some enlightenment from you guys

You can't determine 100% Modulus with the data you have. Ask your supplier's laboratory for the data.

Ok thanks for the information sir

Rubber properties depend a lot on how they are tested. It's not straightforward like it is for metals with yield points etc. You have to look at the ASTM/standard which the material was tested to. You imagine that its a dog bone tension test, but it could be something more complex, especially with stiffness.
