I want to use this chart to size an exhaust stack for a natural gas microturbine. Turbine manufacturer calls for maximum of 0.75" H2O back pressure on exhaust; the exhaust outlet design temperature is 500 deg F; ambient inlet air; turbine fuel input is 9 therm/hr; let's say our system resistance coefficient for the exhaust piping, "k", is equal to 10 (no units), to be conservative. What diameter pipe do you come up with? Just want to be sure I'm reading it right. Is there any limit to the length of a lateral run in the exhaust piping path? What are the effects of a downturn, i.e., exhausting up, going over on a lateral, then turning downward to exhaust into another area? Any feedback is appreciated!
