I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on hip roof unbalanced loads with ASCE7-05.
Reading 7.6.1 and C7.6.1, I see the words "For all other gable roofs..." before the discussion of drift loads. Maybe it's just semantics, but it seems the paragraph heading includes both "Hip and Gable Roofs", but then the paragraph itself only really talks about gable roofs.
Sorry if this is a no-brainer question, but can someone suggest how this paragraph might normally be used for unbalanced loads (particularly leeward drifts) on a good-sized hip roof?
