Calculations I'm reviewing require seismic loads to be calculated using AWWA D100 (for elevated water tanks). The contractor has provided seismic loads using ASCE 7.

Does anyone know if ASCE 7 is more conservative than AWWA D100? I'm a little curious about how the 2 standards compare even though I'm probably going to have to specify the loads be re-done anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the AWWA codes for seismic design but would definitely return the calcs stamped rejected, resubmit per the specifications.

Agree with Qshake. Don't take on the delegated liability.

Thanks for the input, Ron & Qshake! I agree with your assessment. If I come up with any interesting comparisons between the 2 codes, I'll let you know.
