ASCE 7-10 vs. ACI 318

I'm just started using the 2010 Florida Building Code. In it, it references ASCE 7-10 and ACI 318-08. But the wind calculations of ASCE 7-10 come out as LRFD values, yet the Load factors in ACI still address wind as an allowable stress case. In other words, the LRFD wind combinations for ASCE 7-10 multiply W by 1.0 and ACI still multiplies W by 1.3 or 1.6.
I'm assuming that the next edition of ACI will adjust the load combinations for this, but has there been any discussion in Florida about this disconnect?

The load combinations in the IBC (or FBC) override those in ASCE 7 which ovveride those in AISC and ACI. It sometimes takes a cycle or two after a change for everybody to catch up. AISC 2010 (14th Ed. Manual) and ACI 318-11 both use the updated load combinations for W at strength level. I would just use the correct combinations from ASCE 7 with your concrete design and move on.

Agree. Just use the higher wind loads and a 1.0 factor. It should come out about the same anyway.
