I am looking for someone with foundation design experience using ASCE 41-13 who can inform me of what m-factor to use for the concrete design of footings. Short summary is I am adding concrete shear walls to a three story un-reinforced concrete box. Existing footings are very small and will need to be enlarged to handle the overturning. Now, for the design of the footing (ie the proportioning of reinforcing) is there an m-factor that applies?
Thanks for your help.
