I have been asked to take a look at certifying that a building built under the IBC2000 building code will qualify as a Benchmark Building as indicated in ASCE 31 Table 1-1. The building is a 1-story load bearing light gage metal stud wall building with diagonal strap braces for shear resistance and a wood diaphragm.

It is my understanding that a building may qualify under this benchmark status if it was in fact designed/constructed within the code guidelines specified in this table. However, I based on some quick research I do not see this exact building type referenced in the table. The closest example would be a W1 or W2 Wood Frame, Wood Shear Panels. I am curious what other's experiences have been in regards to performing evaluations on light gage metal buildings according to ASCE 31.
