Archimedes Screw for Sediment Dewatering

I am researching the use of an archimedes screw as a component of post-dredging sediment management: dewatering. I will be working with very fine sediment and a high volume of water. Could anyone offer informational resources and/or experiences with an archimedes screw for sediment dewatering?

Virtually all sand-washing equipment use screws for washing/dewatering. You might want to do a search for aggregate or sand washing on Google, and contact the manufacturers and make an inquiry with their engineering staff. A couple off the top of my head...Mclanahan, Greystone, pioneer, Koleberg....

The mining industry uses very similar equipment for processing and selectively removing fines. English China Clays used to operate equipment of this type in the Cornish Clay pits (these pits are now owned by the French company Imerys). Any Mineral Processing text book will discuss this type of device and others for particle separation (including chemical sedimentation methods).
The IMM (Insitute of Mining and Metallurgy) may have published papers. The Mining Journal may advertise suppliers of such equipment.
