Hi Guys

I'm working with a model in Abaqus and I want to apply a time-dependent concentrated force on a specific node of my part which can be defined by its coordinate.
In static solver, I applied a constant force in a reference node tied to the domain at a specific coordinate. But in the case of dynamic/explicit solver, I can't do the same.
I would appreciate hearing any suggestion/idea/thought.

You can define time variation of the load using amplitude (tabular type). Then reference this amplitude in load definition.

I checked this way but the result expressed that no force applied to the domain.
 
Do you apply the force to the reference point ? How is that point connected to the rest of the model ? Usually, coupling or rigid body constraint is used for that purpose.
 
I used tie and coupling constraint separately. however, non of them worked.
 
Can you attach some pictures showing your model (including the region to which you want to apply force) ? Or describe it - what kind of structure is that and how it's loaded in real life ?
 
I want to model a plate which is induced by a time-dependent load. This load is defined by tabular amplitude and applied in a specific coordinate. I need to run this problem for several times and this coordinate changes each time for a particular constant mesh.
 
If the load is supposed to act on a single point only, not on a surface, then you can apply concentrated force directly to a vertex or a node (no need to use constraints) and assign amplitude to it. This will work regardless of the solver.

Then you are doing something wrong. In A/Explicit you can also tie a reference node onto a surface (or element faces) and apply a concentrated fore with an amplitude.
Check your definitions before thinking about workarounds.
