Hello all,

I have a 2-1/16" 5k API 4130 flange as the last flange of a wellhead and my flow line is ASME 3" CL 600 sched 80.
The flange pattern, I believe, will not match (not to mention the size). I'm thinking of a Double Studded Adapter (DSA) or any other kind of transition piece that will help me avoid welding 4130 to a grade B material.

2-1/16" on one end-->3" CL 600 on the other.
Any ideas, suggestions?
thank you for your help

As much as possible, do it right the first time...

That’s an idea, yes, but I wouldn’t go for a studded version but rather two regular flanges welded together like a pup piece or spool, possibly with some pipe and/or reducers between them. The advantages of flanges rather than studded versions is that any stud bolt that’s gets ‘stuck’ due to e.g. corrosion is easier to remove without the risk of damaging the internal threads.
