API stamp for API 610 pumps

Hi all, is API stamp required for API pumps?

I have never heard of an API stamp for a pump. Manufacturers will build pumps to API standards as noted in their literature. Can you explain more clearly? Are you a customer or potential manufacturer?

We are buying a API610 centrifugal pump. I was asked if it needs API/ASME stamp. As I haven’t heard of this before, I assume it is to identify if the pump is an api standard pump or ansi/asme pump?
