Hello, I am designing a water tank with diameter 7.5m and height 9m and i want to make a supported cone roof without any columns just rafters and girders but the code talk about a supported cone roof with columns. Is there any tips to do what i want?
Thanks in advance.

For a 7.5m diameter tank, if I didn't want a centre column, I'd probably use a self-supporting cone.

Sorry it’s 15m diameter not 7.5m

Yes, it can be done. With a steeper roof, you can use a center compression ring. With a shallow roof, you can use a similar arrangement with moment connections where the rafters intersection the center ring. This will load the center ring in a "rolling" fashion producing moments in the ring.

For water tank with dia . 15.00 m. I would prefer cone roof with exterior roof str ( exterior radial rafters and girders ) without any column.
