I am new to the Oil & Gas Industry. I am hoping someone can explain some issues I am having with material specification and MDMT.
I am trying to specify material for a storage tank. The specified MDMT is -45 deg.C, I want to build this tank with carbon steel. The tank is design to be atmospheric and use to storage steam condensate
Is it neccessary based on the MDMT to use low temp carbon material to build this tank or can I go with reg. temp carboon steel?
If I go with reg. temp carbon steel is there certain impact test requirements for certain thickneses?
Any suggestion on this issue would be appreciated.
Thanks!
