API-650 nomographs & CAESAR II

Do we really need to construct the nomographs shown in API-650, Appendix P?

CAESAR II gives automatically the allowed radial force, and the allowed circunferencial and longitudinal moments.

So after run the piping flexibility analysis we just need to compare the values above mentioned with the piping loads (force and moments in the same directions) given by the computed analysis?

Is this right? If so, what for are the nomographs?

No, CAESAR II does not give you the limits. What CAESAR II gives you is the limits on the nomographs. So while there is a radial limit, it is the apex of the figure, assuming both the circumferential and longitudinal moments are zero. Once those moments have non-zero values, that radial value is not the limit.

You have to draw the nomographs.
