Hello,

I have a number of API-650 flange adapters that are taking up space because we aren't using that particular size anymore. IThese are A-36, 1-3/8" thick, 20-36" Nozzles and I want to rework them into Manholes of similar or smaller size. Unfortunately the adapting features force the old and new bolt circle to overlap in a portion of the flange. This would only affect the area in the bolting, not at the gasket surface or center of the flange adapter.

Is there any API-approved or industry-accepted practice for reworking the flange at the area of the bolt circle?

Any ideas, warnings, or opinions are appreciated.

David
