The severity index for cracking mechanism is selected based on the susceptibility. Why the severity index for caustic stress cracking is 5000 when the susceptibility is high while the severity index for Amine stress cracking is 1000 when the susceptibility is also high. In other words, why the value of severity index is different for each cracking mechanism and what is the basis for selecting the severity index for cracking each mechanism.
