We have on our site 8 of these plcs and the intention is to provide a supervisory computer (by way of Scada system) looking at plant parameters and "permiting" the operation of each stand alone machine. Other parameters to be included are supply oil temp (and trend) existing machine loadings, furnace status, TCV opening etc etc. Replacing the PLCs is not an option (both politically and fiscally), they are attached to some pretty mean 15kw high precision servo drives which do the mould position.

Ok the crunch, we had hoped to use the front port of the plc to interogate and write to the unit but we don't seem to be able to crack the protocol. We can use a pc (with adapter cable ) and mitsubishi's medoc soft to monitor or program but nobody seems to have any data on this protocol. Any body seen anything or got some ideas?

PS have been to ME USA , ME Aust, Citec, and am trying to stir up ME japan but time is an issue.

Thanks Don
