Has anyone used BricsCAD particularly v7? Our company is thinking of switching because we are still on ACAD 2000i and the upgrade cost for all of us to move to ACAD 2008 is more than the owner wants to spend.

I'm looking for any compatibility issues or major user problems that ACAD users would have changing to BricsCAD.

Thanks in advance.

I tried it and gave up due to 1) learning curve, 2) compatibility, 3) lack of identical features. Perhaps I was just lazy.

marks625,

I downloaded the demo because it was supposed to run under Linux. It requires a Windows emulator, so I did not install it.

Depending on what you need - you might want to check out TurboCad. I have always thought this was one of the easiest to use... could train a "newbie" in minutes - not days like AutoCAD
