I just received a 3DConnexion SpacePilot from their eval program. All I can say about this is
!!
The spacepilot is smoother, more ergo, and has all the right buttons you could ever need. Just like all of the other 3dconnexion products it's fully mappable. Even though the buttons have t,l,r,f for certain views you can make em anything you want.
Goto and get in there eval prog and show your boss the cool lcd screen and he'll buy you one. The site also has an ROI (return on investment) calculator where you can punch in your salary and productivity increase, etc.
