Hi,
I am designing a combined footing based on ACI 318-14 using STAAD Foundation Advance. Upon checking the calculation sheet (see attached file) from the software, I couldn’t figure out how the following values were computed by the software:
1. One-way shear parallel to longitudinal dimension (1314.76kN) – page 08
2. Top surface distribution reinforcement moment (859.2245kNm) – page 10
Can anyone please explain how STAAD Foundation computes these values?

Did you read the user's/tech manual on the method of analysis and how to interpret the outputs? If still having problems, call/contact the STAAD helpline.

I don't have experience with that particular piece of software, but what values did you come up with doing it by hand?

Just like pHamENG mentioned, have you done any hand calcs to verify these values?

I don't know if you're aware but combined footing has both positive and negative moments when you do the analysis.
