Any of you guys using ASME STP-PT-073 for calculation of SIFs? Just wondering what your experience has been and under what circumstances are you applying them. My current strategy is to use the 31.3 default SIFs (as calculated in CAESAR) for most applications and then if I have oddballs, or if I need to sharpen my pencil, I use the 073 rules. What are you guys doing? Thanks!

I've not read ASME STP-PT-073 before and unfortunately not part of my IHS subscription, although I think i'll be able to get a copy from the company library.

Anyway, for me, I generally apply the standard Appendix D SIFs and for more "unusual" components I've completed linear-elastic FEA to calculate SCFs and then SIFs.

There's also B31J for testing to calculate SIFs.
