Anybody have designed hollow core slab for flat slab system

Hi all,
I've designed the flat slab with column head for a four storey building. Client asked me to changed the solid slab into hollow core slab. I have never done this before, anybody had experience on that?

A flat slab is a two way cast in place system, while hollow core slabs are one way, precast. Completely different systems, requiring a lot more than just substitution of one for the other.

Talk to your local precaster- They all have different capabilities

This is a major change. The diaphragm issues are completely different. Unless your building is pretty small, you'll have to design support members between columns.
Basically, you're client is asking you tp design a different building. They should reimburse you for this change.

Interesting request in that a hollow core system will generally be at least foot taller storey to storey than a flat slab system due to the internal precast beam beam system. Due to the one way span, the loads to the footings will also be higher.

Major change... almost a whole new building fee and, as noted, the building height will be greater...
