Some people have chosen names/aliases on this forum which seem to have at least some meaning to them.

This sometimes gets me curious.
It might also be interesting to know where people are from.

I'll start things of with a short explanation of my own alias.

Zesti
= Greek for "heat" and heat is of course an important factor in HVAC. (I am Dutch but have friends in Greece, so I chose a Greek alias on this forum)

Maurice Stoker is a character from the book Giles Goatboy. He ran the power plant which was more like a zoo, and was best known for carnival desires and goatlike tendencies.

Maurice,
Was that truly 'carnival' desires? Or another word that I misread it as the first time I read it?
Regards,
EEJaime

The carnival desires were mostly carnal, and certainly goatlike.

Young Frankestein

The way we build has a far greater impact on our comfort, energy consumption and IAQ, than any HVAC system we install

Berkshire Manufacturing.
A company I used to work for, that built the first all fiberglass sailplane built in the united states in the 1970's.
However lest you think I am out of place in this section of the forum. I served a 5 year apprenticeship fabricating and designing mechanical systems in the UK with a company called West gate Ventilation and Ducting Ltd..

AbbyNormal,

When I worked at a pathology research center, a large brain tumor collection used to be kept in formaldehyde jars stored in cabinets along the basement corridor. There was always an "AbbyNormal" sign on at least one of the jars. I used to time visitor walks through the facility to pass Abby before lunch. Never failed, someone had to open the cabinet door and see AbbyNormal. Tough to eat chitlins afterwards.

Trashcanman = interesting character (totally nuts firebug) in "The Stand" by Stephen King.

KiwiMace - I'm from NZ (US resident at present) and Mace is short for my last name, Mason. Not much of an abstraction, but if the alternatives are tumor samples and pyromaniacs, i'm ok with it.

KBS- my initials... alas I have no imagination.

HEC - Hutton Engineering Consulting, not much imagination here either!

Mark Hutton

Just a shortening of my first 2nd and surname. First used as a hotmail address about 11 years ago.

My daughter name..... to whom i love most :)

I became a private pilot in 1972, bought a 1942 Taylorcraft L-2, taught myself loops and spins etc. in 1973. The poem/book referenced was hot that year thus other local pilots called me Jonathan Livingston Seagull back then. I used this in a pilot forum and now here too.

Jlseagull,
Richard Bach was a customer of Berkshire MFG.

HVAC68 - Whatever little I know is HVAC. I added 68, which is my year of birth ! Absolutely, NO imagination at all !
