I have to re-engineer a board that uses an ICL7106 - and a MAX8211. There are 2 diodes in series from pin 21 of the 7106 to pin 4 of the MAX8211. What function do these diodes provide. ANy help would be great!

Thanks,

Did you look at the datasheet / app notes?

Yes I have reviewed the datasheets and app notes and have not found anything that explains the hookup.

Without the diodes, the display is "supposed" to be a 0-200 range. With the diodes in, a 0-100 range.

Your posting makes no sense. Pin 21 on the Maxim ICL7106 is the Backplane drive voltage for an LCD display and is nominally 5V. Pin 4 on the Maximm MAX8211 is an output current sink.

Whoever did the reverse engineering appears to have made a mistake altogether or missed a connection to something else.
