I have an obsolete 40MX02 and am looking to migrate it to something not $50/piece.

Hey, Keith

Seems to me that you need to specify number of CLBs, flip-flops, I/Os, etc, to determine a semi-comparable option.

Mouser shows a Lattice Semi FPGA with 4320 "logic elements", 540 CLBs, and 63 I/O running at 1.2V for about $4

In any case, the usual suspects, Intel, Lattice, Altera, Xylinx, etc.
