I feel I need to learn some manufacturing and inspection knowledge under the topic of gd&t. Can anyone recommend some good ones?

What manufacturing processes, what volumes, and in how much depth?

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)
What is Engineering anyway: faq1088-1484

This comes to mind.

Not the cheapest, not very new and based on ASME.

Also leaning towards CMM methods.

But if you have to start somewhere...

ISO based:
G. Henzold "Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing for Design, Manufacturing and Inspection"

Something in general, although I'm now working with big things.

Thanks to CheckerHater and pmar, both look good...
