Hi!

Im doing a static structural ansys WB analyse of a square frame. I imported the model from solidworks, but not with the 4 slings holding the frame up. Is there any tip on how to add supports in the 4 corners of the frame to simulate the 45 degrees slings(see photo).

Alter the local axes at each joint so that one axis is parallel to the sling, and then add a fixity in that direction. Dont know Ansys workbench so it may be called something else like skew system, or local system etc.

Thanks for the reply crisb.

However, i would be much appreciate with a more spesific workbench tip since im not that good in workbench yet.

The key here is making sure that you properly "fix" the assembly to ground. In SW, make sure you have the slings properly mated to the surface of the frame that's sitting on the ground.

You'll find all the support / "fixing" options in the Analysis Settings of Mechanical.
