Hi,
I have to model a heat soak for a fiberglass rod. the rod is bent to a specific height and then placed in a heat chamber at 85 degrees for 24 hours. The aim is to see if the heat applied for a length of time will affect the performance of the fiberglass rod and cause it to fail (break). I am doing only static structral analysis on this with a force load that deforms the rod to the required amount and then a thermal load of 85 degrees. I am putting a time step that is 86400 seconds (24 hours) for both forces. However ANSYS tutorials say that the system will always solve for the thermal condition first. Does anybody know whether my set up will mimic the real life test? Do you know whether I should do a thermostructural analysis instead with a steady state thermal analysis?
