My company recently upgraded to NX 8.5 from NX 7.5. One new problem I'm having is that ANSI/Simplified thread representations no longer appear for some drawing views. Some findings from my attempts to troubleshoot this:
- For a set of views projected from the same base view, the thread representation won't appear for side and section views, but will appear for end views (where the thread axis is normal to the page).
- The thread representation does appear when an externally threaded shaft is chamfered or relieved to not below the thread minor diameter. It disappears when the chamfer or relief diameter becomes smaller than the thread minor diameter (which is the case for most parts I design). Likewise, appears when the start of an internally threaded hole is countersunk to not above the thread major diameter. Disappears when the countersink diameter becomes greater than the thread major diameter.
- Other thread representations display correctly (ANSI/Schematic, ANSI/Detailed, etc.) for the same views.
- "View Style -> Minimum Pitch" is set to 0.
- Checking "View Style -> Render True Hidden Line" doesn't cause the thread representation to appear.
- Existing drawing views (generated using NX 7.5) are unaffected, including after they are updated. Drawing views generated using NX 8.5, and the same geometry as the existing drawing views, are affected.
- Threads modeled using "Hole" or "Symbolic Thread" features are both affected.
Can anyone suggest a fix? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Scott
