I'm looking to pressure-test fittings manufactured for the vacuum industry but I'd like to show that they have been pressure tested by an outside source. This info may be useful in the case someone wants to weld them to a pressure system they can pursue ASME stamps on their own but at least they know these products work under pressure.

Is there such a service where products can be pressure- rated/tested by an ANSI certified company? Is the above even of any value to someone seeking ASME certification?

Sorry if I'm not seeing the bigger picture here. I'm very new to this and am looking for a starting point. Thanks for your time.

One commonly used option would be to conduct the pressure test yourself, but have it witnessed by an Authorized Inspector. The pressure or proof test procedure to be used would depend upon which ASME Code would govern the construction of whatever your parts would be included in.

If you are talking about welded ellbows, tees, flanges, etc. I do not see the value of individually testing the components. What you want to do is test the whole piping assembly after fabrication. Perhaps you could provide more information about what you are trying to do.

I believe the inquiry was with respect to a proof test to qualify the pressure design of the component. This would be done on a prototype.

Errr Vaccum is essentailly a VERY low pressure, so your testing will not really be of much benfit because you'll be looking at such a low psi that I wouldn't have thought that there would be any use at positive pressures.
