Im trying to find out what and how to do things in ansys. Im hping I have a 3D scanned model of the ankle ( in process) to use , does anyone know what boundary conditions to use? where I can find the material properties?

thx

If you are including more than one bone, the BCs of the foot and ankle are terribly complex. I suggest looking at the scientific literature to see what
simplifications can be made.

Try searching google scholar for ankle material properties and foot/ankle FEA:

http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=foot+ankle+finite+elemen t+analysis

Try an ansys forum for specific Ansys questions (ie. http://www.eng-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=569)

Hi,

I tried the eng-tips forum it doesn't seem to like me, as I am never able to look at mu own threads. I can probably find out the BC, but I cannot (as much as I google) find out if ansys lets me do analysis on an animated assembly. Can I import an in my case an animated version of the ankle joint movement and to structural analysis on it.

thx
