Angle Bending Stress

What method should be used to determine the allowable bending stress of an angle (of varying unbraced lengths)? Chapter F of ASD doesn't explicitly say angles and it would seem not very conservative to interchange these bending formulas, as bending of a plate about its strong axis would probably buckle easily.
 
The ASD manual contains a separate specification for single angle members (LRFD does also). Check the table of contents.
 
The single-angle spec. starts on page 5-309 of the 9th edition ASD. Have fun! (stick to equal-leg angles for your own sake...)
