analysis problems

hi all,


i am trying to do analysis on a simple rod by applying surface force to one end while fixing the other face. can i apply joint forces and moments. i tried to apply n it gave me errors saying shell elements are not introduced.


can any1 help me. reply will be appreciated

you need to apply your moment load to shell elements as opposed to solid elements..


so on the face you are applying the moment load to, select the surface and createa layer of shell elements

I would use the total load at pont distribution any time I needed a moment on a solid. That's why it's there, no shells required.
