Hi I am trying to justify the results from the Abaqus finite element analysis of a combined thermal & pressure loading of a pressure vessel with that of ASME code,EN or BS code rules. I mean how the Von mises stress criteria can be checked against the Von Mises stress from the analysis for example. I like to check Tresca,Max pricipal stress etc?

If you're considering the ASME Code, all of your answers are contained in ASME Section VIII, Division 2, Part 5. There are multiple failure modes that need to be considered - so it's not just a single stress check. Read the Code and come back here if you have questions.
