We have an old ammonia refrigeration system. We need to take a condenser pipe line down for leak repair. Would it be easier to purge for the repair in cold weather (10F) or hot weather (70F), or isn't there a difference?

Depends on the pipe if it is a CD line liquid would exist and at 10°F would take longer to evaporate than 70°F. If it is a HSD line chanes of liquid NH3 is Less.
