All,

I notice every time I run the laser there are problems with 304 Stainless 3/16" and thicker (up to and including 3/8"), A1008 Carbon 3/16" and thicker (up to and including 3/8"), 5052 Alum 1/4" and 6061 Alum 3/8". They all have really bad burrs. I make small changes to the settings, until it burns smooth and then the next time I run those same materials they burn bad again. I'm not the main operator, so I try not to mess with the settings too much, but something isn't right. I have seen the laser burning blue before, so I assume it's burning with too much power and possibly even too slow. For instance 3/16 Stainless is 4000 Power 1100 Feed. Is there a good reference point that can be used as a standard for these materials and then make micro adjustments based on what burn looks like?
