Hi,

I am looking for some information regarding productive joining methods of aluminum tube and shaft.
Thought about Crimping technology. specifically for a permanent connection between aluminum tube and aluminum shaft.

Tube O.D- 20mm, tube I.D- 16mm

Shaft O.D- 16mm

The required axial load is about 1000N. There is no exposure to extreme temperatures.

It is intended to mass production process, so the assembly has to be quick and efficient.

I thought about producing a mold (built of 2 parts) for a hydraulic press that by the end of the crimping will enforce preservation of the circular shape of the tube.

If someone can share his knowledge about design "rule of thumbs" or links to some valuable information regarding this process- it would be very appreciated!

Thanks!
