Aluminium Vs Stainless Steel

I’m working on a project that requires a metal choice that is relatively resistant to salt water corrosion. I have performed calculations and aluminium (6083) is sufficient but does it perform better then Stainless Steel in Sea water?

if it's an immersion service than i'll select an higher alloyed stainless steel like a duplex. but it also depends on the type of item you're designing (pipe, vessel...), the service conditions (stagnant water,flowing water.. water temperature...)

I'm not an expert on aluminium corrosion but i know that there are some "marine grade", series 5000 & 6000, that are resistant to corrosion in seawater.
