Hello everybody,

I am writing this e-mail becasue somebody told me in other forum that ABAQUS could be a good package to solve a model of an aluminium extrusion which I'm working in.

I just want to know if you have ever solved something like this, I mean, if you have designed a die for an extrusion process.
I would be very grateful if you could tell me something about this becasue I've tried to solve using I-DEAS and ANSYS but they didn't properly so at the moment I don't have any idea of what could be the best software for this.

If you consider you need more data about my model to answer this question properly don't hesistate to ask.

Thank you very much.

Hi,
You can use DEFORM for ur problem.
none of the above package u mentioned can do the problem.
DEFORM is the specialised solver which does the simulation.
