Can anyone give me an idea why I have an Assy but am unable to create Alternate Assy members? All the options are grey'd out. Is there something I need turned on to access this? I've been able to use it once in the past.
TIA
hmm, when is assembly look at the tabs at either top or bottom
of the Edgebar. the 3rd tab from right should lead you to either
Alternate Assy or FOA creation.
i found the Alternate Assy tab, but all the option's were grey. But that fixed. Now i'm trying to assemble a part but when i try to create the first relationship for that part, it says there's a conflict with existing relationships wether im in member 1 or member 2
I accidentally fixed it somehow. Not sure what happened. That alternate assy function seems to be useful to me, but has some odd quirks. like why cant you just add a new part to one member instead of Apply edits to all members. Why cant SE be "smart" enough to know to suppress or hide it in the other members, if you dont click the Apply edits to all members?
Not sure but if the assembly you are trying to add/edit alternate members is opened in another top assembly, the options to add/edit alternate assemblies are greyed out.
(SE18) I got drafts with alternate members. When I open file by clicking in drafrt - alternate is grey. When I go to this folder and open .asm file I can switch members.
Opening an assembly from draft, or by in-place edit from parent assembly will only allow changes to the opened configuration.
To allow changes to any configuration you need to use the 'open file' option.
